Conclusion

In its form of continuous surface, the building cradles all existing program, connecting the dispersed elements and creating a series of experiences from many angles. It creates an organised transport interchange that can simultaneously serve as a new landmark to announce the approach to Sydney and thus a gateway to the city (See figure 11).

The building’s shell captures the various forms of motion through the site in the way that objects warp and change transparencies at various speeds. The overall fluidity of the elongated form emphasises movement through and around the building. The spaces proposed fit the conceptual goals of their design.

The project focuses on creating open flow spaces with vistas into transitional areas. Permeated with voids and transparencies it encourages visual connections allowing coming together of activities, movement, people and the city edge. The design will encourage people to extend their stay as they explore and discover, as opposed to simply passing through.
